The ideal Candidate has strong z/OS and storage management experience. Job Definition This person is a member of the System Software team who is responsible for installing, customizing, testing and maintaining zSeries operating systems and related . The related consist of any of a number of utilities and tools that are critical to developing, testing and implementing all of the services required to run the various business critical applications to the client. This individual has a thorough knowledge z/OS operating systems and the majority of related system . Besides technical expertise this person has sound skills and good time management skills. With moderate supervision, they can and successfully execute projects, including major upgrades. This individual is customer focused and displays tact and a business perspective in dealings with clients. Job Responsibilities Primary responsibility will be to install, customize, implement and maintain z/OS operating systems and related mainframe platform . which may include development tools, database systems, and transaction processing layers. Install and customize ancillary systems and products which may include database systems ,application development tools, transaction processing layers, utilities, disk and tape management software, and other products that supplement the major system . Apply maintenance on software products in order to provide support at a level consistent with system and application requirements. Modify software as needed to meet clients processing requirements. Diagnose and resolve system and application program failures. Provide on-going support to Operations, the Solutions Center and Application Developers with respect to their use of system , other systems software and supported programming languages. all documentation as required including change requests, status reports, test results, and project plans. Stay current with the latest developments in their field of expertise. Participate in on-going planning for Disaster Recovery and provide support for Disaster Recovery tests. Experience This person has 5 - 10 years experience in a mainframe environment, and must have had specific experience with the installation of z/OS operating systems. Critical Skills The most important skills associated with this position involve the mainframe. Advanced - z/OS operating system, SMPE, HCD( IOCP and MVSCP gens), JES2, SDSF, SMS, operating system utilities, dumps, and traces, CICS, DB2, IMS, MQSeries, and TCPIP.Intermediate - Security, tape management , job restart and scheduling software, DASD management, JCL, SORT, Automation software, Data Integrity software and assembler. Basic TSO, ISPF, Program management software, and print archival and viewing software, Basic Windows, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project and 3270 Emulation software.
