Adjusts, aligns, and calibrates aircraft systems, using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
Examines and inspects engines or other components for cracks, breaks, or leaks.
Disassembles and inspects parts for wear, warping, or other defects.
Assembles and installs electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand tools and power tools.
Services and maintains aircraft systems by performing tasks, such as flushing crankcase, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, functional components, and parts, such as wings and fuselage, rigging, and hydraulic units.
Tests engine and system operations, using testing equipment, and listens to engine sounds to detect and diagnose malfunctions.
Removes engine from aircraft or installs engine, using hoist or forklift truck.
Modify aircraft structures, space vehicles, systems, or components, following drawings, engineering orders and technical publications.
Reads and interprets aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
Requirements:
Self starter, takes initiative, able to motivate and lead crew, capable of following through assignments in an efficient and safe manner
Pratt & Whitney PT6 experience
Extensive knowledge of the operation principles, the maintenance and repair requirements of reciprocating turbine aircraft engines and their related systems.
Extensive knowledge of airframe construction, repair, and rigging.
Working knowledge of the tools, equipment, and methods used in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of aircraft.
Working knowledge of FAA rules and regulations concerning aircraft inspection and repair.
Working knowledge of a personal computer.
Ability to supervise, evaluate and review the work of subordinates.
Ability to troubleshoot technical problems, plan, and direct repairs.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and bulletins and to keep accurate records of work performed.
Ability to use measuring instruments and tools used in aircraft repair.
Ability to communicate effectively with subordinates pilots, other agency personnel, and the general public.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
Using mathematics to solve problems.
Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an FAA approved aviation maintenance technician school.
Possess a valid FAA Airframe and Power plant license.
